Ferdinand manages the trading desk and assists in managing the SciVest family of funds. He brings with him more than 10 years of experience in the financial services and investment industry, and most recently was a key member of the Equity Structured Trading Group at HSBC Securities.His experience includes the management and execution of all trading in a number of hedge strategies such as market neutral equity, pairs trading, dividend capture, event driven, as well as index arbitrage. Prior to joining the EST Group, he held various positions within the treasury group including dealing with foreign exchange, fixed income products and assisting in managing over $2B USD in deposits for HSBC Bank. Ferdinand holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), Derivatives Market Specialist (DMS) designations and is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI). He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Toronto and has received his Certified Hedge Fund Specialist (CHFS) designation.
